Aerial Yoga, feel the freedom to fly and meditate...

“The asanas will help transform an individual, taking him or her from body consciousness to soul consciousness”  – BSK Iyengar.

To tell you about aerial Yoga I quote Master Iyengar who allows me to reflect on the close relationship between my body and my being. Remembering that by experiencing sensations in the body of expansion with physical practice, I awaken feelings such as freedom and presence.

Exploring with gravity and anti-gravity in the mid-nineties I discovered the suspension in the air; giving birth to ideas to achieve valuable practices years later mainly in the world of acrobatics, aerial dance, Pilates, and yoga.  Zero compression investments. Do you dare to play?

…You will feel free on a mental level from your first class, being suspended in the air fulfilling the dream of flying and you will also find peace within yourself at the end of each session in complete relaxation, silence, and containment.

Aerial Yoga is a creative and artistic experience with the body, mind and being. It is a technique that fuses exercises of strength, flexibility, endurance, lightness, attention to the present.   It strengthens and revitalizes the body in general, releases muscular tension, generates positive attitude.

It uses a fabric in the form of a hammock or swing which is accommodated in many ways to achieve various asanas (postures) standing, balance, inversions, deep stretching of the upper and lower body, there is the possibility of creating a seat with the hammock which makes it safer and available to everyone to practice.

You can live low-impact experiences where movement and breathing go in sync, increasing body awareness while renewing the lymphatic, circulatory and digestive system.

There are more active sessions that we could define as “high impact” because of the fluidity of the class with varied sequences with repetitions of arms, legs, abdomen, and inversions that provide a natural decompression of the spine plus the release of “happiness hormones” serotonin and dopamine in an organic way.

As a Yoga practitioner and Instructor, I can affirm that the use of hammocks is undoubtedly a great contribution to the world of wellness that reminds us that a fun practice is vital for good health and longevity.

“To live in freedom you must let go, to fly you must trust, to meditate you must be present.”
