PERSONALITY, AUTONOMY, AND HEREDITY

PERSONALITY, AUTONOMY, AND HEREDITY

Have you ever wondered where your personality comes from? All human beings develop and/or are born with the capacity to develop personality. The brain is the organ in charge of manifesting it, to be more precise, it is the frontal lobe that oversees this task; this is where the processes of problem solving, behavior, impulse control, spontaneity, and regulation of social behaviors of each individual are carried out.

All cognitive skills, activity levels, social interaction, expression of emotions, are influenced by the environment in which we develop; several studies suggest that approximately 60% is directly determined by genetics; 40% for the emotional part and 25% for activity levels and sociability.

So do we have choices about our eudaimonia; the answer is that we do. One of the first things that should be considered important in this life, is self-knowledge, as well as the efforts that are made to improve our relationships, attitudes, and desires; and with this we are one step ahead to achieve our happiness.

Much of what we are today is determined by our genetics, even so, there is no such thing as a dysthymic personality gene or a gene that marks extroversion. Behavioral genetics, lets us see once again that not everything is an exact science, and that philosophy, spirituality and many other factors are conjugated in an integral way. To form our personality.

Working on the path of mental well-being has a direct impact on the person you are today, on what you want to heal, improve and not only that, if you decide to have blood descendants, we can improve the genetic information we inherit, making the perception, tastes and priorities lead us to a life of well-being.
